Arts, Music, Schools and GroupsRock School

Looking for something for your kids to do in the summer? This year we have invited Ossia Music School to come to Portico and work with local youngsters in a week of 'Rock School' fun classes from Monday 13 August to Friday 17 August ending in a public performance on evening of Saturday 18 August. Ossia teaches a range of instruments such as guitar, bass, drums and keyboard regardless of skill. The kids learn about the peripheral aspects of the music business too - from designing posters and social media promotions to negotiating fees with venues! Two classes will run: mornings 10am to 1pm for primary school age 7-11 year olds and afternoons 2-5pm for high school kids age 11-18. There will be a minimum of one tutor per 5 children.
