Doors open - a bit anyway!

Open for church services from July

We had our first non-virtual meeting back at Portico this week - socially distanced of course - making plans for the reopening of the church to the congregation. From July, low capacity congregations are allowed to return to services. If you want to know more about all of the health and safety measures we are putting in place or have any questions please contact church clerk Jimmy McDowell.

Open for pre-booked heritage tours from July

In July we are also permitted to open for small group heritage tours. All tours previously booked for June and July have been cancelled. If you or your group are interested in coming for a socially distanced heritage tour at Portico you can find out more by contacting Verity.

What about concerts?

We don't know yet. No dates given from the government but there are some moves to allow rehearsals to take place... so hopefully it may not be too far off. We are making tentative plans for some solo performer gigs in the autumn... with lovely people like Anthony Toner. Watch this space! We are also waiting to hear from funding bodies re grants for streaming equipment to enable simultaneous live streaming of low capacity concerts. When we hear we'll let you know.
