An evening to think about and discuss Portaferry's heritage. Presented in association with UAHS, PAST and NI Screen's Digital Film Archive.

The evening will start with a NI Screen Digital Film Archive screening of the UTV programme 'Once Upon A Place: Portaferry' made in 1991. (Look out for several well known, if somewhat more youthful, local faces!)

After the film (25 mins), Allison Murphy (Portaferry and Strangford Trust) will chair a panel of people involved with local heritage including Amy Anderson and Gerard Lennon (Upper Ards Historical Society), John Dumigan (Portaferry Regeneration Ltd.), Lenny Lawson (Portaferry Sailing Club), Liam McQuillan (Archaeologist) and David Thompson (Ecologist).

Before the interval, the discussion will focus on the past thirty years and what has changed since the film was made.

After the interval, the discussion will move to the next thirty years: what do we want to see happen to Portaferry's heritage? Bring your thoughts as there will be opportunities for comments and questions from the audience too.

This event is free to attend but please register. Refreshments will be provided with a request for a small donation.

Optional extra!

Following the event, there will be an opportunity to attend a complimentary tour of the Portaferry and Strangford Trust Ropeworks Maritime History Museum.
